Klipsch has announced the launch of its SW-115 subwoofer. The SW-115 enters the brand’s current subwoofer lineup capable of reproducing even the lowest frequencies with high-output and low distortion.
Designed with a front-firing port to conveniently blend into any setup without loss of sound, the SW-115 subwoofer provides endless placement options within living spaces, custom home theaters and in-room installations. Weighing in at nearly 70 pounds, the SW-115 can also be fitted into a recess or cabinet to deliver maximum output with minimal resonance.
The SW-115 subwoofer employs a 15-inch active, non-resonant, woven fiberglass, extra-long-throw driver, while a BASH® Digital Hybrid Amplifier delivers efficient, reliable power. Avant-garde engineering and a strategically-sized cabinet, woofer and amplifier establish effortless bass extension, surpassing subwoofers that would have cost upwards of $2,500 just a decade ago.
The SW-115 subwoofer’s front-firing enclosure and slot port reinforce its large driver for maximum output, and the braced cabinet allows for extended, distortion-free bass. Showcasing a pica-black finish, the SW-115 subwoofer complements all design styles and proves to be a stylish, audiophile-worthy addition to any large room or designated home theater. The SW-115 includes the WA port on the rear amp panel, as it is compatible for use with the Klipsch WA-2 wireless kit, for easy room placement.
“The Klipsch SW-115 was developed to address large music and home theater systems with remarkable performance, capable of any bass content you throw at it,” said Mark Casavant, vice president of product development for Klipsch. “Our engineers produced a subwoofer that shirks size constraints in the pursuit of massive performance. The SW-115 subwoofer rounds out our complete subwoofer line that delivers on the Klipsch brand promise of taking you to the live performance. It reinforces your passion for music, movies and gaming as you literally feel the bass! We are proud to offer industry-leading subwoofers for every audio need and budget.”
The Klipsch SW-115 subwoofer will retail for $849.99 and be available at Klipsch.com and authorized retailers in January 2011.
Reason #123 Why Readers Love Widescreen Review:
I read WSR for the articles—honest. Terry Paullin's industry insight is refreshing and lively. The lack of comparisons of which home theatre-in-a-box is best or which sub $200 DVD player is best leaves more room for in-depth product and movie reviews. Most importantly, though, I read WSR for the caricature of Gary Reber morphed on to the movie featured on the cover in the Editor's Couch page. Pierce Brosnan had better watch out!Brian Schrumpf
