Blu-ray Disc Reviews

Dear Gary:
May I suggest something I believe would be very useful to your subscribers? Like many people, I have an extensive collection of standard-definition DVDs. I usually buy Blu-ray now, and as you are aware, older movies are re-issued on Blu-ray. The key question when an older movie is re-issued on Blu-ray is whether or not the picture and sound are better than the standard definition.
If my memory is correct, I have read that comparison before in your Blu-ray reviews and found it very helpful. An example would be the Back To The Future 25th Anniversary Trilogy. There is no mention of how it compares to previous releases. I can?t remember which movie it was, but I didn?t buy it on Blu-ray because the comment was made that it wasn?t much of an improvement.
Can you please include this comparison in the reviews, especially with the detail you are known for?

Editor-In-Chief and Publisher Gary Reber Comments:

Our review of the Back To The Future 25th Anniversary Trilogy did in fact contain picture and sound references to the previously released anamorphic DVD. We do this whenever possible. In a general sense, the Blu-ray Disc version will always be superior to a previously released DVD or a concurrent DVD release.
