Clown is the story of a loving father who dons a clown outfit and makeup to perform at his son's sixth birthday, only to later discover that the costume—red nose and wig included—will not come off, and his own personality changes in a horrific fashion. To break the curse of the evil outfit, the father must make grim choices, with his own family facing danger. (Gary Reber)

Special features include a making-of featurette (HD 06:24), upfront previews, and an UltraViolet digital copy.

The 2.40:1 1080p AVC picture was photographed digitally with the Arri Alexa camera system. The imagery is naturally rendered throughout with a warm and rich color palette accentuated at times with bright colors. Fleshtones are perfectly natural. The opening sequence is brightly lit, but as the movie progressives, darker scenes prevail to heighten the building horrific actions of a demonic clown with ancient origins. Contrast is well balanced with deep blacks and revealing shadow delineation. As the clown transforms, the make-up treatment intensifies to heighten the frights. Resolution is excellent, with fine detail exhibited in facial features, hair, make-up, clothing, and clown costume, and object texture. The production design plays on lighting effects and darker scenes. This is a quite effective visual experience that delivers the frights. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack boasts heightened atmospherics and sound effects geared to create intense horrors. The sonics are effectively spatial in dimension with moments of aggressive surround energy. The music score enhances the demonic effects, creating a mysterious mood throughout. At times, the music intensifies during the most horrific segments. Deep bass further intensifies the sonics with extended .1 LFE energy. The music is spatially dimensional with, at times, strong surround envelopment. Dialogue is nicely integrated spatially. This is a well-executed soundtrack that stirs the emotions and delivers a hauntingly horrific experience. (Gary Reber)
