Surround Music is any form of optical disc containing discrete multichannel music. Right now, this includes DTS Digital Surround Audio-CDs, SACDs, DTS or Dolby Digital Music Video DVDs, and DVD-Audio discs.
To listen to these formats in the way they were intended, you'll need a 5.1/6.1 playback system (where you have a left front channel speaker, center channel speaker, right front channel speaker, right surround channel speaker, left surround channel speaker and a subwoofer plus an optional back surround channel speaker (or in some cases a overhead surround channel speaker). Optimal playback will be achieved using identical full-range speakers for all channels (the exception being the overhead surround channel speaker with a frequency response of 70Hz-10kHz).
