Dear Gary: I ordered DVE from WSR the day it was announced. I only wish the articles that Joe Kane does for the magazine would be required reading for anyone that purchases a video product (DVD player, HDTV, video cable, etc). Now, wouldn’t that make the video world a better-looking place!

I’m continually surprised at people who claim to know the contents of Video Essentials on DVD and at the same time are stumped by the patterns in the D-Theater version of the program. Perhaps they should subscribe to Widescreen Review for at least the next two years, which is the amount of time it will take to present articles that will fully describe the use of these patterns.
