Video Forecasts
Dear Gary: I just wanted to say thank you for publishing Joseph Janni’s “Video Forecasts Millennium Plus Ten Technology Options” article in Issue 73, June 2003. Janni really has his finger-on-the-pulse of this aspect of the industry. I work in Hollywood as an A/V Supervisor and Technician for the production of movies and television shows, and I really needed a “primer” on the status of current and future display technologies before I attended the InfoComm convention.

Thank you for your kind comments. My primary intent was to discuss video technologies that might eventually become the next generation of displays, and not to concentrate on near-term options. I have been researching this subject for several years. Progress in the laboratories has been impressive. Many advanced technologies are just now reaching prototype stage and I thought Widescreen Review readers might be interested in learning about them.
