Front Row Center

Dear Gary: I just wanted to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed Terry Paullin’s article “Stop The Madness.” When I read his first paragraph it sounded like myself. I too have had co-workers cut articles out of the newspaper to give me, since they know that I am into home theatre. I just shake my head when I read these articles and can’t believe how much people will pay and still not have the right setup. I don’t know how many times I have had to fix problems on people’s setups because the installer hooked-up the equipment wrong. And they call themselves professionals. Thanks for the laughs, and what’s funny is that your article is basically true. By the way, I have been a subscriber to Widescreen Review since the premiere issue. Keep up the good work.

Contributing Editor Terry Paullin Comments:

Thanks so much for the positive feedback. It’s really good to know somebody out there is reading my stuff. Yup, and the articles just keep comin’ and they get more bizarre. Since I wrote that column, I have been sent even better material for a follow-up. I truly do have a lot of empathy for the first-time home theatre buyer. Unless they happen to bump into somebody like you or me, they are destined to make some bad choices BECAUSE THEY READ IT IN THE PAPER! Oh well, we can't save 'em all... Thanks for reading WSR.
