WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Swiss Family Robinson is the classic story about a lone emigrant family of five— father, mother and sons, Fritz, Ernst and Francis—shipwrecked on an uncharted island. The Robinsons bravely tame this threatening environment and ingeniously transform the wild jungle isle into a tropical paradise. When Fritz and Ernst rescue a beautiful girl from marauding pirates, the family must protect their exotic new home from the bloodthirsty buccaneers.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 2.55:1 picture is generally not impressive.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is supposed to be Dolby Surround® stereo, but is nearly monophonic, although the slightest signal can be faintly heard in the screen left and right channels and in the surrounds. Sound is decidedly directed to center and extremely compressed, In no way does it suggest the stereo experience of the original soundtrack.
