WSR Narrative Review |
|
Story Synopsis:
Posse is a fast-paced, action-packed brawny epic western from director Mario Van Peebles who stars as Jessie Lee, a sharp-shooter who has fought the front line battles for the Spanish American War, only to be betrayed by his corrupt colonel (Billy Zane). This is shoot-em-up guns and dynamite action entertainment as Jesse forms a posse that blazes across the west with vengeance and justice as their creed.
LaserDisc Picture:
The visual look of this film is quite beautiful with a slight sepia pigmentation that exhibits greater warmth but with natural and consistent colors and fleshtones. The shadow detail is excellent even in difficult lighting situations. The transfer is 2.05:1.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is excellent with an enveloping aggressive Dolby Surround® field that effectively puts you into the action. Directional effects are vivid and there is an incredible amount of bass and music energy in the surrounds, as well as rock-the-house effects.
