WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Best Of The Best 2 power-punching action-thriller about three friends from the championship U.S. karate team who are forced to fight or die when one of them is lured into an illicit competition at a secret fight palace concealed beneath a trendy Las Vegas dance club—a lavish underground arena frequented by wealthy patrons and known to its elite, bloodthirsty clientele as “The Coliseum.” There fights to the finish are staged for a $100,000 purse. The story reunites the stars and director of the original action hit who put a stop to the brutal death sport.

LaserDisc Picture:
The transfer appears to be mastered from a print element and the sharpness is not up to the finest discs. Fleshtones are tinted with an orange cast for an unnatural appearance. While generally noise free, there appears to be an occasional print artifact. The image is matted at 1.85:1.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack has a fairly aggressive surround track which is very effective in several scenes. Stereo directionality is is good, but the dynamics are compressed and the fidelity is not what it could be.
