WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Michael Steinberg’s Bodies, Rest & Motion is about twentysomething romance set in an Arizona suburb. As for the title, taken from Newton’s Second Law of Motion, it is concerned with the inertia and restless movement of its characters from many angles. The story focuses on three central characters, each somehow at a crossroads and a fourth that interjects himself into their lives. Steinberg creates a vivid portrait of a contemporary generation trying to reconcile their dreams for contentment with realities of false starts and missed opportunities.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 transfer, created from the 35mm intermediate positive, is of excellent quality with natural flesh tones and balanced color throughout. Contrast and shadow detail is also excellent.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack features a Native American-tinged score recorded with superb depth, dimension, and superb bass extension to 25 Hz! The dialogue is exceptionally natural sounding with a subtle surround ambience.
