WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Son In Law, follows a wacky storyline involving a funky character called Crawl (Pauly Shore-MTV jock and star of Encino Man), a flamboyant and eccentric UCLA student who is gaping to get out of the big city and spend Thanksgiving on a family farm. He soon finds himself pretending to be the fiance of a proper rural girl who, wanting to duck out of a betrothal to a local boy she left behind to go to college, invites him home to her family’s midwestern farm. Crawl is unlike anything they have ever seen. Out of his element, he instantly lands himself in a comic and uncompromising situation where city boy meets country folk for a barn full of laughs.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is sure to please with vibrant colors, sharply defined blacks, good shadow detail, excellent contrast and no distracting artifacts. Fleshtones, for the most part, are naturally rendered. The picture has been matted at 1.75:1.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is generally well recorded with consistent clear dialogue but slightly harsh. Unfortunately, surround envelopment is wanting as the sound, with the exception of the music, is essentially mono in effect.
