WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
The Program follows the lives of a group of young athletes who come together from different worlds to pursue a dream in college football and prove themselves. It is a down and out drama about the gritty, action propelled world of intercollegiate football, focusing on the young lives who must face the pain and battle the pressure and competition entailed. James Caan stars as the demanding coach. This is a movie for football mania fans who want to catch the excitement of football season year ‘round.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture has been matted at 1.85:1. Overall, the colors are slightly over saturated, but well balanced. Fleshtones are rendered a bit inconsistently. Sharpness and detail is excellent and the sporting scenes are rendered in vivid color. The presentation is very good and no serious artifacts mar the picture.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is distinguishable for its aggressive surround envelopment, especially during game play. Foley effects are outstanding as well. The music score is energized and well recorded with excellent bass extension. Dialogue is always intelligible.
