WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Undercover Blues is a fun-filled spy spoof with some big laughs. Jane and Jeff Blue, played by Katheen Turner and Dennis Quaid, are super-spies who have taken time off from the intelligence business to be a normal couple and live a normal life style while raising their baby. But their leave is cut short when they are persuaded to help the national security one more time and save the world from a corrupt Czech arms embezzler, all this while making sure their baby is taken care of. The quick-witted, wisecracking duo play it with ease, romping through a horde of wild and crazy supporting characters all the time performing exaggerated feats of valor, in this action comedy.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture appears to be softly focused but very clean and artifact free.Vivid color, solid blacks and excellent shadow detail are highlighted by the excellent contrast. Fleshtones, however, are rendered on the reddish side. The picture has been matted at 1.85:1

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is distinguished by David Newman’s wonderful score which perfectly carries the comedy and provides the limited surround envelopment.
