WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, is a rolling screwball comedy starring the uproariously funny Jim Carrey (In Living Color) as Ace Ventura, the wacky pet detective who is on a job to find the Miami Dolphins’ missing pet Dolphin mascot and quarterback Dan Marino whose disappearances are tied together. A hilarious adventure is in store as Ace finds himself repeatedly in uncompromising situations that are sure to induce uncontrollable giggles, especially for those who enjoy loony slapstick humor. If you enjoyed Ace theatrically, you will be pleased to know that additional footage not shown theatrically has been added.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture has been matted at 1.85:1. Fleshtones are a bit over saturated with a slight orange hue. Images are sharply de-tailed with good shadow renderings. There is no grain or other artifacts to distract.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack a well recorded and directionalized music score and effects with a subtle surround ambience.
