WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Beethoven’s 2nd is a delightful family comedy announcing the return of the irresistible St. Bernard, Beethoven and his further adventures with the Newton family. In this saga of guaranteed comic relief, Beethoven meets Missy, the female St. Bernard of his dreams—and it is love at first sight. Together, they have a scrumptious basketful of baby puppies, much to the dismay and disbelief of Mr. Newton. Trouble starts in the family when Missy’s wicked owner separates her from Beethoven and her pups, resulting in an all-out rescue mission by the Newtons.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture has been matted at 1.85:1. Images are extremely sharp and solid with great detail. The look is natural with excellent color fidelity and contrast, and deep blacks and good shadow detail. Fleshtones are al-ways natural. There are no noise or artifacts to distract from pristine visual presentation.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The dog barks are a treat and everything is beautifully recorded with directional effects and effective ambient surrounds, plus a wonderful music score by Randy Elderman.
