WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Body Double is an erotic suspense thriller from Brian De Palma about a down-on-his-luck actor (Craig Wasson) who house-sits for a new actor friend. The house is situated with a telescopic view of a beautiful neighbor woman (Deborah Shelton) whom he watches every night through her open windows as she dances erotically. He follows her and they meet in a moment of romantic bliss. When he witnesses her brutal murder, he becomes obsessed with the mystery of the crime and becomes entangled with a crucial link to the murder in the form of porn queen Holly Body (Melanie Griffith). With her help, he pursues the killer.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, presented in its intended 1.85:1 theatrical aspect ratio, has an overall dated appearance. Fleshtones are naturally rendered except for some instances in which they appear discolored. Overall the picture is soft and lacks the fine resolution of the best discs. Otherwise the picture has no distracting artifacts and is sure to please.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
Nothing exceptional to hear but conventional movie stereo which translates to mono effects and dialogue, and the stereo presence limited to music and the surround ambience it imparts.
