WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Sting’s Ten Summoner’s Tales is a vibrant musical experience featuring the super great and talented rock star’s latest endeavor of musical scores. The collection includes such hits as “If I Ever Lose My Faith In You,” “Fields of Gold,” “It’s Probably Me,” and “Shape of My Heart.” These songs were recorded and filmed at Lake House, Wiltshire, England, the country home of Sting and his family, adding a personalized grace to the disc. Stylized with old world imagery and an indoor studio session, Sting’s ballads and rhythms come to life in this great collectors must have.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is presented in the Sony HDVS high definition video format with a 1.78:1 aspect ratio. The picture is natural in appearance with accurate fleshtones and good color fidelity. Contrast and shadow de-tail are excellent and there are no artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The digital stereo soundtrack is superb with excellent dynamics and soundstaging. It was recorded and mixed at Lake House by Hugh Padgham and is available on CD as well. The disc was mastered by Bob Ludwig at Masterdisc in New York (who, as a side note, uses Monster Cable M Series cables throughout the signal path and monitors with Duntech loudspeakers).
