WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Greedy is an exuberant comedy that stars Kirk Douglas as Joe McTeague, the cantankerous and manipulative patriarch of a large and combative family, who spend their time fawning for his affection while waiting for his death and the large fortune he has amassed as king of the scrap metal trade. When a beautiful young pizza delivery girl becomes his nurse, the family panics, seeing his fortune walking away with her. Desperate, they band together to solve the problem and agree to send for his once-beloved and long-lost nephew Danny (Michael J. Fox), with hopes that Danny will turn his rich uncle around to their gain.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 picture is superb with excellent color fidelity, contrast, sharpness and detail, deep blacks and natural fleshtones. No artifacts to mar this presentation.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is well recorded and achieves brief moments of effective surround envelopment, but essentially this is a monaural production.
