WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Halloween is a terrifying thriller about a murderer, little Michael Myers, who slaughtered his sister in cold blood on Halloween night. But for the last fifteen years, town residents have rested easy, knowing that he was safely locked away in a mental hospital… until tonight. Tonight is Halloween; and Michael returns to the same quiet neighborhood to relive his grisly murder.

LaserDisc Picture:
The element used in this 2.35:1 transfer of the original theatrical motion picture was a 35mm Panavision® print minted from the original negative. Additional footage from the television release is presented full-frame, recreated from the original 1-inch broadcast master. This footage can be programmed to play in sequence with the original scenes. The picture quality overall is wanting with some scenes appearing undersaturated and lacking proper color fidelity.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is undistinguished mon-aural from the 35mm magnetic master.
