WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
My Girl 2, is the sequel to My Girl, the 70’s era hit which stars once more Anna Chlumsky as Vada, the now 13 year-old adolescent with Dan Akroyd and Jamie Lee Curtis reprising their roles as the father and stepmother, the Sultemfuss family. This time, while the family awaits the birth of their new baby, Vada begins to feel dispirited and is obsessed with finding out about her own Mother whom she has never known. She travels to California to see her Uncle Phil where she hopes to unravel her Mother’s story. In doing so she meets Nick (Austin O’Brien), the son of her Uncle’s girl friend who helps her investigate her Mother’s background and who becomes a very special first love.

LaserDisc Picture:
The matted 1.82:1 picture is sharp and extremely detailed. Fleshtones are accurate and the color fidelity is first rate with deep blacks and excellent contrast. The picture is solid with no grain or noise or other artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is a conventional movie mix with subtle surround envelopment supplied by the music score. Occasionally, the sound imparts a greater sense of realism.
