WSR Narrative Review |

Story Synopsis:
Porcile (Pigsty) is presented as a cultural initiative for the recovery, restoration and multimedia dissemination of the complete cinema works of Pier Paolo Pasolini: A Cinema Of Poetry. A surreal abstract and bizarre symbolic critical attack on the middle classes of the 20th century, Porcile de-picts scenes of a cannibal in a medieval wasteland interwoven with images of modern-day Germany and the son of an ex-Nazi industrialist who, rather than attracted to his fiancée, has a loathing attraction to pigs. Both characters became suffocating victims of their own demeaning societies—a fascinating yet revolting satire, an exquisite cult phenomena and a twisted turn into the talents of cinema conceived and directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini.
LaserDisc Picture:
The picture quality is extremely poor, marred by noise and artifacts, color distortion, unnatural fleshtones and a lack of de-tail. The element appears to be a poor, severely damaged print. The aspect ratio continuously jumps from 1.75:1 to 1.63:1 creating an annoying weave effect throughout.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The monaural soundtrack is inflicted with hum, noise, and scratches and thus, is just presentable for historical value.
