WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Sirens is written and directed by John Dugian and takes place in the Australian outback where painter Norman Lindsay, played by Sam Neill, resides with his family, amid his famous nude paintings and beautiful models (including supermodel Elle Mac-pherson). Anthony Campion, played by Hugh Grant, is a young vicar on a mission to stop this painter’s blasphemous paintings from being submitted to a Sydney exhibition. Along with his wife Estella (Tara Fitzgerald), they arrive intent on deliverance. But the playful and seductive hosts provide a sexual and heady atmosphere for the repressed visitors, who are gradually affected by this sensuously bohemian world.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture has been matted at 1.85:1. The picture has a very natural look, vivid color, excellent contrast, and accurate fleshtones. A slight grain is apparent in the darkened scenes, but otherwise there is no noise or artifacts to distract from a solid visual look that is sure to please.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack has a nice, well recorded music score. The dialogue is exceptionally well recorded with natural room tone.
