WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Surviving The Game is an action movie about an expedition of wealthy men who pay to hunt prey in the Pacific Northwest. The prey in this case is a homeless man who believes he has been recruited by the group to lead a hunt. Ice-T stars as the homeless man hired as the guide, who upon finding himself stalked by the hunters, must use his wits in his fight for survival. The hunters, played by Rutger Hauer, Gary Busey and F. Murray Abraham are well equipped for the hunt with high-caliber assault weapons and explosives. It’s hard-hitting action adventure from start to finish with the hunters learning a deadly lesson: Never un-derestimate a man with nothing to lose.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 picture is sharp with excellent detail, accurate fleshtones and good color fidelity for a very natural quality. While nearly all outdoors photography, interior scenes appear to have been shot through a filter. Blacks are deep and the picture is generally artifact-free but with grain-inflicted night scenes.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby Surround® soundtrack has a dynamic music score and effective surround envelopment with great bass extension.
