WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Future World is the chilling sequel to Michael Crichton’s (Jurassic Park) wildly successful 1973 thriller Westworld. The story picks up two years after the disaster which befell the resort Delos, but the public is slow to accept the reopened resort and so company executive Duffy, played by Arthur Hill, seeks to restore public trust by inviting television correspondents Tracy Ballard (Blythe Danner) and newsman Chuck Browning (Peter Fonda) to visit their facility. They ob-serve operations from the inside as well as out, and are treated to the abandoned Westworld as well as Futureworld, but all is not what it seems. Chuck believes something sinister is happening and soon the pair find themselves involved in a frightening plot.

LaserDisc Picture:
The matted 1.85:1 picture exhibits poor color fidelity, inconsistent fleshtones and bad shadow detail. There are artifacts, grain and noise which appear to be from a print element.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack would normally be a necessary and prime support element for this genre of movie but lacks the qualities to sustain the action because it is monaural.
