WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Meteor is an action-packed disaster film starring Sean Connery as Dr. Paul Bradley, a former NASA scientist who left the space program after one of his inventions was exploited for military use. Now he alone holds the key to saving the world from a massive five-mile-wide meteor heading earth’s way at 30,000 miles per hour. Unfortunately, he must grapple with a cautious president (Fonda), a devious army general (Landau), a Russian colleague (Keith) and his beautiful translator (Wood).

LaserDisc Picture:
The Panavision® scope 2.35:1 aspect ratio has been retained but distracting artifacts, grain and noise spoil this transfer. The picture appears to be out-of-focus and undefined with inconsistent fleshtones and poor color, and insufficient shadow detail.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound has its moments of surround grandeur with an expansive music score and directional effects but fidelity is wanting.
