Story Synopsis:
A secret agent is forced to live a double life. Teams Schwarzenegger with Cameron for a third time.
LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is presented at the Super Scope 235 2.35:1 aspect ratio. There was a 70mm blowup release as well. Images are sharp with excellent detail, color fidelity and contrast. Fleshtones are natural and blacks are solid and deep. The slightest grain and noise as well as artifacts are apparent but not distracting. Overall a superb THX® transfer.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
This is the second movie with a discrete 5.1 multichannel digital soundtrack to be released on laserdisc in the Dolby® Surround AC-3® format. It is a superb soundtrack that has an extraordinary dynamic range and an aggressive surround presence with exceptional quadraphonic deep bass and .1 effects below 25 Hz! While the matrix Dolby Surround mix is excellent, the soundtrack makes a dramatic and exhilarating statement in the 5.1 rendition with a coherent soundfield.
