WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Tootsie is a delightful comedy about an unemployed actor who in a last ditch effort of desperation disguises himself as a woman to get a job on a daytime soap opera and ends up becoming a “female” star.

LaserDisc Picture:
The Panavision® scope frame has been recomposed at 2.25:1. The picture is generally poor and not particularly well defined. Colors are vivid, however, and the transfer element appears to be a print. Minor artifacts are apparent as well as grain and noise.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is decent mono and dialogue is always intelligible. The music score by Dave Grusin is wonderful but does not compare in fidelity to the CD version.
