WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Cheech and Chong’s Up In Smoke is the classic stoner comedy of the ’70’s, with Cheek Marin and Tommy Chong making their incredible film debut, man. Their marijuana laced humor is a constant theme throughout, man, just like the same madness, lifestyles and sketches that brought them fame as comedy record artists. This escapade takes them to Tijuana where they unknowingly drive a marijuana doctored truck back to the US through immigration, all the while just one step ahead of the law and Sgt. Stedenko (Stacy Keach). With a hilarious cast of characters and with the help of their smokin’ truck they go on to perform their outrageous finale at the Roxy Theatre.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 2.35:1 Panavision® picture is naturally rendered with vivid color, accurate fleshtones and generally sharp and detailed images. The picture is slightly over-enhanced in some scenes and there are some minor artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is monaural but the classic oldies rock ‘n’ roll is a foot stompin trip back to the ’70’s.
