WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Junior is a light-hearted comedy starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as two fertility researchers, whose grant funding has been cut off just before they are able to finish their project. They go forward with their plan, by stealing a frozen egg tube labeled “Junior,” and implanting it into the body of Schwarzenegger’s character. The humor is hysterical with tender insights into the power of maternal, er paternal, love.

LaserDisc Picture:
Matted at 1.82:1, the picture is sharp and detailed with virtually no grain or noise, nor artifacts. The look is most natural with accurate fleshtones and good shadow detail, and blacks that are deep and solid.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack has a definite “studio” produced ADR dialogue sound that does not integrate well with the Foley effects. The music score provides subtle surround ambience with excellent bass extension.
