WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Squanto: A Warrior’s Tale, is an action-filled adventure of a Native American, who, on being abducted from his homeland by English traders finds himself in a foreign land, determined to find freedom. Squanto escapes to find himself in a monastery where the compassionate brothers teach him their language and help him flee from Plymouth and return to the New World. When Squanto arrives home he finds his village in ruins and his family dead. Instead of revenge he practices the teachings he has received and becomes instrumental in creating a time of harmony and peace among the new family of settlers from Plymouth.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is natural in appearance but lacks the super clarity of the best discs. Fleshtones are accurate and colors are vividly rendered with deep, solid blacks. Both artifacts and noise are apparent in some scenes. The picture has been matted at 1.85:1.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is conventional movie stereo with subtle surround envelopment provided by the music score and the occasional surround effect. Otherwise the norm is mono sound effects integrated with dialogue.
