WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
The Quick And The Dead is a modern Hollywood western with originality. Gene Hackman plays Herod, an outlaw mayor who hosts a yearly high-stakes quick-draw tournament. However, the prize money has always stayed with Herod until a mysterious, tough six-shooter-sporting young woman (Sharon Stone) swaggers into town in search of putting a lid on her past.

LaserDisc Picture:
The highly stylized western setting is beautifully presented in this 1.87:1 matted Sony HD transfer. Images are sharp and detailed and colors are vibrant with a slight sepia filtered effect and deep, solid blacks. There is no noise, grain or artifacts for a high standard of quality.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is superb with excellent dynamics, aggressive surround envelopment, deep and powerful bass and natural dialogue.
