WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Robert Altman’s Ready To Wear features a cast of dozens of Hollywood stars and super models in a story about the fashion industry. When a murder occurs at a major fashion event, everyone becomes a suspect and they all start running around like headless chickens. Kim Basinger adds to the confusion as Kitty Porter, a far-from-professional TV reporter on the trail of her most shocking interview yet. This is another glittering Hollywood Altman film overbilled as an exuberant and seductive comedy and is supposed to be hilarious.

LaserDisc Picture:
The frame has been transferred at 2.10:1. Picture quality is generally poor with orangy pumpkin fleshtones, over saturated colors that are so dense that texture detail is obscured, and blurred photography. Otherwise no noise or artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby Surround® soundtrack has a well recorded music score with subtle surround ambience and natural dialogue.
