WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
The Madness Of King George is the story of George III of England, the monarch famous (or rather notorious) primarily for losing the American colonies to independence in the Revolution. This lavishly produced period piece is a successful blend of the tragic and the hilarious. When George III (Nigel Haw-thorne) begins to behave erratically with fits of temper and lust, his advisers isolate him and try futile cures, while his foppish son moves to succeed him.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 matted picture is supreme in all aspects of quality with no noise or artifacts to mar its beautiful visual character.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The matrix PCM soundtrack version provides a notch up in subtle surround envelopment over the Dolby AC-3 discrete version. The sound is not particularly distinguished ex-cept for a well recorded classical score.
