WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
This Miracle On 34th Street is an update of the classic Christmas story, in the finest holiday tradition, a timeless tale of magic and wishes coming true. Kriss Kringle (Richard Attenborough), is hired to be the department store Santa for the financially-troubled Cole’s, When he insists that he is the real Santa Claus his exuberance becomes contagious and the popularity of the store soars, but not everybody is a believer, and set out to destroy him and the Christmas spirit.

LaserDisc Picture:
This THX® certified transfer is perfectly framed at 1.85:1 with a picture that is absolutely gorgeous. Images are sharp and detailed with color fidelity exemplary of the finest transfers. Artifact and noise free, the picture is solid.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is well recorded with a wonderful music score and subtle ambiance. But dialogue is far forward and wanting in naturalness in some scenes.
