WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Re-Animator is a gruesome, but comedic, mix of death, torture and mutilated flesh scenes during which the dead are brought back to life. This is the original unrated version which was re-edited to avoid an “X” rating theatrically The story is about a doctor (Bruce Abbott) and his experiments to animate life out of the dead with disastrous results as his living dead turn out to be murderous bad seeds.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 matted picture was transferred from a new 35mm low-contrast print struck from the original camera negative. Colors are vivid, if not slightly oversaturated with exaggerated fleshtones and deep, solid blacks. Noise and artifacts are virtually non-existent.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is undistinguished mono.
