WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Three Cases of Murder is a trio of stories, each written and directed by different people, that was released in 1955. The only star known to American audiences is Orson Welles, who gives a flamboyant performance as Lord Mountdrago in the third story. The first story, In The Picture, finds a man facing three homicidal maniacs when he is strangely transported inside a landscape painting. The second story, You Killed Elizabeth, is about a love triangle involving two childhood friends and a beautiful young woman. In the third story in the trio, Lord Mountdrago, a member of the British Parliament has paranoid delusions of potential revenge from a man whose career he ruined.

LaserDisc Picture:
The black and white picture is matted at 1.60:1. It appears soft and over exposed with poor contrast and poor gray scale. The picture is far too bright overall and the element exhibits negative dirt, noise and artifacts that are distracting.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is undistinguished mono with both hum and noise.
