WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Bullock stars as Lucy, a lonely transit token booth operator who loves from afar her dream man Peter (Gallagher), a handsome regular on the subway. After an accident on the tracks, confusion at the hospital leads to the mistaken conclusion that Lucy is his fiancé. Being embraced by the family, seeing the joy that the “news” brings them, living out her fantasy all contribute to Lucy permitting the charade to continue. When Peter awakens and proposes for real, complications arise as his skeptical, but charming, brother (Pullman) falls in love with Lucy and she’s force to choose between the two.

LaserDisc Picture:
The THX® picture is perfectly framed at 1.85:1 and looks great. Images are slightly soft and there are occasional color fidelity and fleshtone inconsistencies, but blacks are deep and no artifacts mar the visual appeal.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is well recorded with subtle music envelopment and natural dialogue.
