WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Follow The Boys is a musical comedy about “sea gulls,” the wives and sweethearts on shore who try to keep up with their men in uniform at sea. An unlikely group of women—newlywed Bonnie (Connie Francis), sophisticated Toni (Paula Prentiss), beautiful Michele (Dany Robin) and neglected Liz (Janis Paige)—meet up in France as they are waiting for their boys, but must set out for Italy when the ship doesn’t port. They pick up an old car with no power and no brakes and their outrageous adventure following the boys begins. Filled with songs by Connie Francis, these lovely ladies must stay out of trouble long enough to land their men and save their relationships with the romance of the Mediterranean leading the way. Included with the LaserDisc in the original theatrical trailer.

LaserDisc Picture:
The Panavision® Scope picture, framed at 2.30:1, has a dated print look, but exhibits vivid colors and natural fleshtones with deep blacks. Images are sharp with good shadow detail, but the backgrounds are marred with noise and artifacts throughout.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is compressed, undistinguished mono.
