WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
One Fine Day stars Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney as Melanie Parker and Jack Taylor, two single parents who spend one tumultuous day together. Parker is a career-minded architect who is only interested in one man—her 5 year-old son. Taylor is a newspaper columnist who thinks women are fine as long as they keep their emotional distance—except for his 5 year-old daughter. When the pairs are inadvertently thrown together, the kids antagonize each other, while Melanie and Jack fall in love.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 picture exhibits generally good color fidelity, although a bit dark with a yellow hue throughout. Images are generally sharp and detailed with only the slightest noise apparent.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack has a nicely recorded music score that images well. Dialogue is ADR-produced and forward sounding. Those scenes that utilize a split screen effect would have been more effective with hard left and center and hard right and center, instead of hard left and hard right only. Surround envelopment is subtle and limited to the music score.
