WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
With an equal amount of comedy, fantasy, action, adventure and romance, The Princess Bride delivers classic entertainment that can truly be enjoyed by all ages. It is the story of the beautiful Princess Buttercup (Robin Wright in her debut performance) and her one true love Westley (Cary Elwes). Believing Westley was murdered by pirates, Buttercup is astonished when he returns to save her from a band of thieves and the evil Prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon). Based on William Goldman’s book, The Princess Bride one film you cannot miss! This 10th Anniversary special edition offers special features.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, matted at 1.82:1, exhibits inconsistencies in picture quality. Some scenes look dated and are wanting in sharpness and detail. The magnificent sets offer washed out, but generally natural colors.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack has an expansive music score that, in some scenes, images nicely across the soundstage. Dialogue is often ADR-produced, but is generally natural in character.
