WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
The Rich Man’s Wife stars Halle Berry as Josie Potenza, the young wife of a wealthy executive (Christopher McDonald) who takes the first step in salvaging their marriage. But when her husband is brutally murdered by someone she knows, she becomes the prime suspect in the investigation and the prime target of the psychotic killer (Peter Greene). Blackmailed, trapped, under suspicion, but innocent of murdering her husband, Josie must make the most difficult decision of her life—either pay the killer to be quiet, or tell the truth...if the cops will believe it.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 picture exhibits sometimes oversaturated colors with natural fleshtones and deep blacks. Images are sharp and detailed with well defined shadow delineation. Noise is apparent throughout, but there are no distracting artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack has an aggressive surround presence, but fidelity sounds slightly subdued and lacking in presence. Sound effects are often presented in stereo with subtle ambiance. Dialogue is generally natural with good spatial integration. The music score is generally well recorded, but sometimes sounds slightly veiled and wanting in high frequency extension.
