WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
International box office star Jackie Chan stars in Supercop, risking life and limb to bring non-stop comic action to the screen. Chan is joined by the sexy Michelle Khan, Asia’s top female action star, both performing their own spectacular stunts as undercover supercops. Set in mainland China—a complex world of corruption, kidnappings and drugs—they fight for justice against a sinister Chinese druglord. Special features include both Cantonese and English-dubbed soundtracks, five deleted scenes, the U.S. theatrical trailer and television spots.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, framed at 2.35:1, is a bit dark overall, exhibiting generally natural fleshtones, vivid colors and undefined blacks. Contrast and shadow detail is mediocre, with images wanting in sharpness and detail. Slight noise, grain and artifacts are apparent throughout.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is nicely produced with excellent fidelity. Both the Dolby® Digital 5.1 discrete and matrix PCM versions sound virtually identical. The discrete occasionally uses split surrounds to good effect. Bass extension is deep with effective use of the .1 LFE channel. An enjoyable soundtrack!
