WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Nobody plans a vacation better than Clark W. Griswold (Chevy Chase). This time he has chosen the perfect destination in Vegas Vacation. Eager to make this the best vacation ever, Clark leads his wife, Ellen (Beverly D’Angelo) and kids (Ethan Embry and Marisol Nichols) from the casino floor to the Hoover Dam as the easy enticements of “Sin City” seduce each family member.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.92:1 picture exhibits natural color fidelity with accurate fleshtones, rich and warm colors and deep solid blacks. Images are sharp with excellent shadow detail and contrast. There is no noise or artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital 5.1 discrete and matrix PCM soundtracks are essentially identical. Dialogue spatial integration is generally good and sounds natural in most scenes, except for the occasional use of ADR. Surround envelopment is aggressive, but there are no independent surrounds mixed into the discrete version—both versions having a monaural surround presence.
