Story Synopsis:
Filled with romance, humor and special effects, Dragonheart tells the story of Bowen (Dennis Quaid), a noble, but disillusioned knight who undergoes a change of heart through friendship with his intended victim Draco (voice of Sean Connery), the last of the magical, fire-breathing dragons. Ultimately, the moment comes when Bowen must gather his courage to give his mystical friend the death he desires—the only way to put an end to the evil king (David Thewlis).
LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, framed at 2.30:1, with natural colors, sharp and detailed images and no noise or artifacts, is an excellent transfer.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The DTS® Digital Surround soundtrack lifts the veiled presence of the matrix PCM version, a task that the Dolby® Digital soundtrack didn’t do in Issue 24. The music score sings with new vitality and the strings project with excellent presence. Dialogue still sounds forward and ADR-manufactured, but that is inherent in the production mix. The new soundtrack is sure to please.
