WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
International martial arts action star Jackie Chan directs and stars in the rousing comic action adventure Young Master. When his big brother is ousted from their martial arts school, Chan sets out in anguish to find him. But on his journey he is mistaken for a fugitive and is forced to use his wit and martial arts skills to save himself from bounty hunters and police officers while, at the same time, trying to find the real outlaw to clear his name. Filled with spellbinding fight scenes (like the opening Lion Dance sequence), Young Master is sure to please fans of Jackie Chan and martial arts alike.

LaserDisc Picture:
The problematic picture, framed at 2.45:1, exhibits washed out, greenish overall color fidelity and fleshtones with weak blacks. Images are wanting in sharpness and detail, with poor contrast and shadow detail. Major artifacts mar the picture throughout, but noise is minimal. The second line of subtitles cannot be read on a widescreen monitor.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is undistinguished monaural that is thin sounding and distorted with virtually no bass response.
