WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Based on the works by Daniel Defoe, The Amorous Adventures Of Moll Flanders stars Kim Novak as Moll, an 18th-century servant who romps from bedroom to boudoir in the hopes of making her schemes and dreams come true. Marrying the drunken and foolish son of her employer, Moll soon finds herself a widow and, once again, penniless. Seeking a new husband, she masquerades as a rich widow to land the affections of a wealthy nobleman (Richard Johnson)—never dreaming that he is actually a highwayman posing to win the presumably rich Moll. The Amorous Adventures Of Moll Flanders is a witty comedy that features an all-star cast.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture quality is sure to please as it looks excellent for its age. Framed at 2.30:1, the picture exhibits fully saturated colors with generally natural fleshtones, vivid colors and deep blacks. Color fidelity only sometimes takes on a dated look when color shifts occur during scene changes. Images are sharp and detailed with good shadow detail and contrast. There is virtually no noise or artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is undistinguished mono that sounds distorted and compressed.
