WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
John Wayne stars as Brannigan, an aging Chicago cop who sets off for England to pursue Larkin (John Vernon), a criminal avoiding extradition. There he is joined by Jennifer Thatcher (Judy Geeson), a beautiful Scotland Yard aide assigned to him—and who falls for the solid, crusty detective. Brannigan soon discovers that he is being followed and Larkin is kidnapped, but remains in hot pursuit. From a stakeout in Picadilly Circus, a death leap across the Tower Bridge and a knock-down, drag-out brawl in a Victorian pub, Brannigan is a sure-fire winner for fans of the legendary Duke at his best.

LaserDisc Picture:
The Panavision® scope picture, framed at 2.42:1, is undersaturated in color fidelity throughout, with weak blacks and pale colors. Contrast is poor, while shadow detail is mediocre. Images are wanting in sharpness and detail with noise and artifacts apparent throughout.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is undistinguished and dated monaural that is bright in character.
