WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Swingers is a witty comedy about the pathetically lovesick Mike (Jon Favreau), who, when he’s not checking his answering machine to see if his ex-girlfriend has called, is endlessly obsessing about it with his friends. His hip, fast-talking friend, Trent (Vince Vaughn) offers a loyal ear to Mike’s constant whining, then decides he’ll do whatever it takes to show his lovelorn buddy how to live again. Whether its a trip to Las Vegas or a cruise to the local cocktail lounge, these young swingers are sure to bring out a laugh in any viewer of this brilliant film!

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, matted at 1.85:1, is problematic, exhibiting a plugged up quality with imaging inconsistencies throughout. Color fidelity is generally natural, but inconsistent. Noise and artifacts are apparent throughout, especially in interior scenes.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is monaural driven in character and punctuated by an oldies music score that is nicely presented in stereo. Dialogue sometimes sounds muffled and ADR-produced, but at other times sounds natural. Surround is limited to the music score.
