WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Walking And Talking is a witty romantic comedy about modern love in the 90’s. Set in New York, two young women grapple with friendship, careers, marriage, and dating. Amelia (Catherine Keener) feels a bit snubbed when she learns that Laura (Anne Heche) is engaged to get married. As Laura and her fiancee, Frank (Todd Field), spend more and more time together, her friendship with Amelia goes through inevitable change. Meanwhile, Amelia continues the struggle to find herself and her match with the help of her good friend Andrew (Liev Schreiber), and their applaudable sense of humor.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, matted at 1.88:1, exhibits fully saturated colors and deep, solid, sometimes undefined blacks. Images are sharp and detailed with good shadow detail, and there is only slight noise in some scenes, but no apparent artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is monaural driven with muffled and veiled dialogue and sound effects that are very undefined. The music score is subdued and undefined as well for an undistinguished and unsatisfying experience.
